3D Printing

Once the 3D-modelled designs are rendered and ready, it is time to 3D Print our objects! But where do we go to 3D Print? In the following, we will look at a makerspace where we can conduct our 3D Printing experiments in Singapore. It will also explore the different 3D Printers, tools and softwares required to 3D Print.

Makerspace

A makerspace is a shared where makers can come together to create things and share knowledge about making. I chose to conduct my experiments at MakeIT @ Tampines Regional Library, a makerspace that is open to public in Singapore. Through a 3D Printing Starter course, I was introduced to the world of 3D-Printing.

3D Printers

There are several types of 3D Printers catering to different preferences and needs. The follow presents two kinds of 3D Printers I found at the Makerspace, MakeIT @ Tampines Regional Library.

Conversion Software

In order to print on the FlashForge Dreamer 3D Printer, an additional software is required to convert and prepare the 3D-Modelling file into a 3D-Printable format. FlashPrint is used to prepare 3D Models for 3D-Printing on the Flashforge 3D Printers. The following explains the file conversion process:

3D-Printed Objects

Let's look at some 3D-printed objects using FlashForge 3D Printer.
